Hi All,
Over the pass few weeks, I`ve received numerious request from members asking for an option for them to sell their craft works on the site.
I`ve been giving this a little bit of thought and i think it`s a good alternative to premium accounts. Here is what i have in mind :
A special seller account for members who wish to turn their gallery into an online store. A seller is given 25 slots where they can set their designs to be up for sale. Items that are up for sale will have a buy now button and will have a checkout feature. Alternatively for those who already have their own shopping cart option, the buy now button can be set to a link on their website.
There will be no listing fees (you can add, change, delete your listings as you choose) and no commision taken from your sale. Instead a small monthly fee of ($10-$15) for hosting and providing the service.
Please let me know your thoughts and if you would be interested in such a feature.

Hi Jan
I think that`s a great idea. One suggestion though... is there any possibility of have a `free` or discounted (say $5) month. What I mean to say is, for those of us out there who aren`t sure if this is the way to go, could we have a try before we by option? Maybe have only 5 or 10 slots instead for this month?
What do you think?

hi Jan,
I think that is a fantastic idea!! I think the fee is fine too. i would be more than willing to pay that fee to set up my gallery as an online shop. A quick question about money though. I guess you are talking in US Dollars?? Would i need to list my prices in US Dollars? Or seeing as how i already have a checkout on my website, it would just be in Australian dollars anyway?? Just wanting to know how the currency conversion would work.......
Please keep me at the top of the list for people to tell if and when you set this feature up. It`s a guaranteed yes from me!!
Thanks Jan, your ideas and your vision and commitment are amazing. I have been seriously thinking of giving up the whole jewellery making scene. But this new idea is just sparking my interest again..........

Ag! I hate to be a wetblanket because I just love this site...
I think the option to sell is great but I think the fee is too steep for me. When I consider other sites that sell, (Etsy would be one familiar to most here so I will use it for an example) the listing fees are cheap (will be .20 next week) and the commission is 3.25%. and other sites that are a little higher but not nearly as high as what you have stated.
So I personally would only use the free display option because my website is easily found to purchase from there. If the fees were in range of the ones I already use, like Etsy, I would be happy to sign up for that though!
My income is fixed and my crafts pay for my car insurance and such.... I am sure that I am not the only one that is in this kind of a situation where 15.00 can make such a noticeable impact on the wallet.
Call me the Devil`s Advocate is you must but that is the reality of my life and so many other`s like me.
Blessings, Snow
