I know exactly how you feel! I`m nervous about approaching stores too, but if we want to succeed, it`s something we need to do. Craft fairs too.A friend of mine does fairs and has her jewelry in the boutiques, and she`s getting tons of sales. She`s almost TOO busy! I can`t see how she could make everything she sells herself. Location is key to her success though. She lives in the trendy suburbs with cute little stores surrounding her. Unfortunately, where I live there`s not so much, so it`ll be harder. Sounds like you have the same problem.
We must both be positive and pro active.
Lets talk soon,

Hey Maxsmum, from where I`m sitting, your designs are lovely and fresh, and there should be no reason why you cannot get them to sell. Unfortunately, people are on e-bay to make a deal or to pay next to nothing for whatever they like. Maybe you should look into putting them in boutiques and salons to sell. The clientele in these stores would be much more willing to pay full price.
But who am I to dish out advice? I don`t have a web site yet and I`ve not posted on ebay either. The closest I`ll be to selling my jewelry (other than friends at cost) will be at my Open House on the 25th. But my plan for 2007, would be to do lots of shows and get my stuff in the stores.
Stick at it, but just try all the different avenues available and see what works best for you. Good luck!!!

Hi there,
I was just wondering if Etsy was a good place to sell my jewelry. Has anyone had any luck with sales there? I would love to hear some pro`s and con`s, or any thoughts in general on the matter.
Thanks alot.

Home made jump rings. (5 posts) - Posted On : 28 Sep 2006 01:51 PM Edit Post | Report Spam
Hi again all,
I was wondering if anyone had some advice on cutting the jump rings so that they are flush when closed? Mine seem to have differing edges so that when I close them they don`t seem to meet well. I have been using an angled trimmer. Should I use something else? Also, would anyone recommend soldering? I`m interested in wire work, but I think it`s looking unprofessional at the moment.
Any advice would be appreciated

Hi All, I`m from England originally, but have lived here in Ontario Canada for 13 years. To all you Aussies out there, I wish I was with you all. Winter will be here soon, and back to the -30 degree temps. BRRRRR. Australia was next on my list of countries to live, but unfortunately or should I say fortunately, I met my hubbie a month after I arrived here!
