JoAnne - How long have you been making beads? When I first started I had that same problem. Sometimes if the glass gets wound to tight they can be hard to get off.

Soak them in water for 10 minutes and grasp the mandrel with a pliers. Works for me every time.

The other possibility is some of the release could have flaked off under the bead while applying your base glass without you noticing. Thus the hot glass may be stuck to the mandrel.

Shiny New Blog! (3 posts) - Posted On : 13 Apr 2007 06:11 AM Edit Post | Report Spam
I`ve been wanting to revamp my website for awhile now. Earlier today my darn kiln broke so I couldn`t make any beads. Now that I have all this free time I got around to finally wiping my current website clean and starting over.

Here is my new blog

http://www.avenuebeads.com

Still lots I want to do to it but check it out. I Plan to post to it daily if possible and I love getting feedback on the stuff I make (hint hint).

And.. for all the bead buyers out there that have purchased my work, there is something special in store for you in the near future. So keep your eyes peeled, It will be well worth your while

You could try building a larger light box to suit your needs.

Just google "home made light box" and you should find some good directions for doing it.

Just found this forum so I`m introducing myself.

About me

My name is Joe I`m 27, male and I make glass beads(lampwork) full time. I sell on EBay as well as through my own site and I couldn`t be happier turning what once was a hobby into a full time job.

I have one picture in my gallery and will be putting more up soon. Would love to see what you all think.
