About lilycobweb and his/her work 
My name is Rena and I live in Northern Ireland. I use the name `lilycobweb` for my bead and wire jewellery and my crochet work. I use textile techniques to create wearable items and I use cotton, silk, jute and hemp as well as wire. I always use glass beads, often vintage. I am interested in the interplay of light between glass beads and crocheted forms. I love Irish crochet motifs, which are based on highly stylized natural forms. I am experimenting with making crochet `gardens` based on these, though I do make functional items as well. I explore the links between drawing and crochet, as they evolve from the linear. I am endlessly inspired by both, and by nature.
