About lenab and his/her work 
I’m Olena Bugrimenko, a freelance designer. I specialize in bead crafting.
About eight years ago it was a nice hobby for me. My first piece was a necklace for my Mom who stayed many miles away from me and for whom I made that shimmering beaded chain with love.
Then I started to made handmade jewelry and bead bouquets to birthdays for my friends. I repeatedly turned for inspiration to the flowers to create pieces, which extend traditional jewelry values. My friends appreciated necklaces, earrings and bracelets that were handmade from glass beads. I was asked for more designs such as handbags, accessories for informal attire and even for kids’ doll dresses. I realized that this craft makes excellent gifts.
However it was not until I have been recognized in a variety of contests and fairs including winning the prize from Michael’s Create A Sparkle Bead Contest that I started to take my art more seriously.
It is difficult to say why I create art. Sometimes it is a need to see something in a new way, or a need to put down in tangible form a real beauty that I see in flowers.
Inspiration comes from lace, ribbon or haute couture dresses. I like to explore combination of beads and glass with gems and pearls. I try to combine intricate design with different forms and shapes to add to the originality to each piece.
