About dewonapetal and his/her work

Welcome!

I have a degree in art with a concentration in printmaking, mainly silk-screen, but also lithography and etching. I continued my studies in art history as a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh. As an art student, I also studied jewelry techniques, ceramics and pottery, drawing, painting, sculture, mixed media, and photography and darkroom techniques. I learned lampwork beadmaking and jewelry techniques at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.

If I should happen to get bored with lampworking or jewelry making, I also do thread crochet, machine knitting (I have 2 machines), sew, make candles, herbal and dried wreaths (where DewOnAPetal originated), punch rugs and basically ignore my family. Oh, and sometimes I actually cook - but usually only on Sunday. I make sushi and other exotic dishes.

I`ve been living and working in Manhattan for over 4 years now, and although I love it, it`s probably just another steping-stone in my life. I sell to supplement my income, but would gradually like to build my business in hopes of opening a boutique or gift shop in a sleepy little tourist town on the lake or in the woods someday.
