This choker was made for the Etsy winter Beads4You winter challenge, in the "everything else" category. Everyone starts with the same set of beads to create a new and unique item.
I have combined my love of thread crochet and beading to make this neckpiece. The top white row sparkles with tiny silver seed beads, then various other beads are incorporated into the threads. The center front features a beautiful grey-blue flower with 2 black and white striped beads on each side. The teardrops on the bottom can be layered in whatever sequence you like.
The overall length is 14" and sits high on the neck - perfect to show off the teardrops and sparkles in the front. Front overall drop is 4 1/4", so this is definitely not for the faint-hearted.
The clasp is made with a crochet loop and teardrop leaf. The white thread is Lion Brand Lame` Metallic Yarn which has a beautiful sparkle to it. It is 35% metalized polyester and 65% rayon. The black thread is Coats Opera, a very soft 100% cotton thread which is very nice to work with.
The entire piece was pinned and steam blocked.
